Kingston & Polytechnic Harriers’ Phoebe Law tasted success on her international cross country debut on Sunday.

The 17-year-old was part of the Great Britain junior women’s squad that claimed team gold at the European Cross Country Championships in Bulgaria.

Jessica Judd led Team GB’s points scoring quartet home as she finished second in 14 minutes 18 seconds – five seconds behind champion Emine Tuna – with team-mates Lydia Turner [14:25] third, Amy Griffiths [14:38] fifth and Rebecca Straw [14:48] eighth.

Law was the team’s fifth person home, clocking 15 minutes three seconds to finish 14th in Samokov as the British team triumphed ahead of France and Germany.
