Brentford full back Moses Odubajo does not want to silence the Griffin Park faithful tonight, but he does want to silence Fulham.

The 21-year-old featured in the Bees’ Capital One Cup defeat to the Cottagers in August, which marked their first win in five attempts under Felix Magath.

Since then, Magath’s sacking in September and the arrival of Kit Symons at the helm has heralded a change in fortune, losing just three in 12 games.

However, Brentford have turned heads with one defeat in seven, including wins over Championship title contenders Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

Despite their recent excellent form, Odubajo still has Brentford down as the underdog.

“On paper, having come up from League One and them coming down from the top flight, we’re the underdogs,” he said.

Brentford will not shy away from the challenge, says boss

“But it is paper talk. We’re on a good run with three on the bounce, including those against arguably two of the best sides in the division and that shows what we’re capable of.

“On the other hand, their front three are very dangerous – [Hugo] Rodallega and [Bryan] Ruiz have Premier League experience, and they’ve brought in Ross McCormack, who is all about goals – so it will be tough handling those three.”

McCormack was the difference when the sides met at Griffin Park in the League Cup, and despite the defeat Odubajo revelled in the derby occasion.

The summer signing from Leyton Orient said: “Words cannot describe what the atmosphere was like in that cup game, I could not hear myself think let alone what my team-mates were saying to me.

“Unfortunately we lost 1-0, but it was a great performance from the team and the atmosphere was incredible so I am looking forward to Friday.

“We have to make sure we don’t play the occasion, we just have to play at what we’re good at.

“The fans have been waiting for this all season so the atmosphere will take care of itself.”

Odubajo added: “The tempo for the first 15 minutes is going to be a joke, everyone is going to be out of breath – everyone is going to want to get forward.

“Both managers will encourage teams to press and win the ball high up to put the other on the back foot. Hopefully we’ll be on top after that first 15 minutes and will then keep them quiet.”

Boss Mark Warburton remains without the injured Alan McCormack (ankle) and Scott Hogan (knee), but midfielder Jonathan Douglas returns from suspension.
