AFC Wimbledon stand on the brink of a milestone this season, and hitman Matt Tubbs can see success on the horizon.

However, Neal Ardley’s men have been in this position twice before and fallen short.

Victories over the franchise club MK Dons and Bury leave Dons on the verge of a third consecutive win when they go to Wycombe Wanderers this weekend.

It would be the first time this season the Dons achieved the treble, but with confidence high in the camp, Tubbs is ready to break the duck.

He said: “We want to be pushing for the play-offs, and with three teams getting promoted automatically there is no reason why we can’t do that.

“If we stick to our game plan, then there’s no reason why we shouldn’t keep the run going at Wycombe.”

He added: “I’ve come to AFC Wimbledon to score as many goals as possible and not join a mid-table team.

“The players around me will create chances and it’s up to me to put them away.

“It’s just a case of trying to stay fit and to score as many goals as I can.”

Meanwhile, Andy Frampton has revealed his delight at skippering the first Dons side to beat Milton Keynes.

He said: “It was a real honour to captain the side for the first time and in such a big game.

“To get the result that everyone wanted was absolutely fabulous.”
