Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock praised his midfield maestros in the wake of the comfortable 2-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Skipper Mile Jedinak nodded home his second goal in as many games to seal the three points off a Foxes side that had beaten Manchester United the weekend before.

Warnock said: “I fancied Mile [Jedinak] for a goal, but I thought it was going to be a shot from outside the area.

“He is a leader, he’s our leader. He’s what I call a bread and butter player, and he’s the first on the manager’s teamsheet.

“So it is nice when he gets the reward of a goal and to get it in front of the Kop is especially satisfying for him.”

He added: “Mile, James [McArthur] and Joe [Ledley] took hold of the midfield in the second half, and I told James that he is going to be one hell of a player when he’s fit.

“His [McArthur’s] contribution has been terrific, both on and off the pitch.

“We were a little bit disorganised for the Burnley game, we’d not had time to train, whereas they are listening now and I think they are enjoying training. It’s nice when it comes off out there.”

Palace look to extend their unbeaten record in the Premier League to five this weekend when they go to Hull City.
