Two of Roehampton University's finest are preparing for World Cup glory with the England women's rugby team.
Alex Matthews, who plays for Richmond RFC, and Saracens' Margaret Alphonsi will line up against Canada on Sunday looking to win the silverware for the first time since 1994.
England thrashed rivals Ireland 40-7 in Wednesday evening’s semi-final.
The showdown in Nimes, south France, will be England’s fourth consecutive World Cup final appearance, and in each of the past three finals England have lost out to New Zealand.
Matthews, 21, said on Twitter: “Never thought women’s rugby would get this much attention, incredible atmosphere at Stade Jean Bouin yesterday.
“The support we’ve had has been incredible. World Cup Final, here we come!”
Flanker Alphonsi, 30, added: “Thank you to everyone for all the good luck and congratulations messages. It is truly amazing.”
