Hercules Wimbledon Athletic Club are on a high are winning a clutch of titles and medals last weekend, just days after the club's women celebrated going top of the Rosenheim League Eastern Division table for the first time in their history.

The women also made history by becoming the first club to win all four individual events and the sprint relay in the same match.

Leading the title-winning elite at the South of England Championshiops at Crystal Palase was Dwayne Cowan who smashed his own club 200m record in lifting the title in 21.02 seconds.

He went even faster in winning his semi-final (21.00secs) to improve on his previous club record of 21.08secs set in the UK Inter-Counties Championships at Bedford last August.

Although he was the only title winner among the half-dozen Hercules Wimbledon athletes in action at Crystal Palace, only one of the four others failed to come away with medals.

Two of Hercules Wimbledon's talented young sprinters came away with medals in a high standard U20 100m final.

Surrey silver medallist Max Mondelli stormed to the silver medal in 10.79secs, with clubmate Theo Etienne sharing the bronze medal in 10.81secs.

Alex Bruce-Littlewood also took silver in the senior men's 1,500m in three minutes 52.53secs, while Emily Martin won the bronze medal in the senior women's long jump with a season's best leap of 5.73m.

A seventh Hercules Wimbledon athlete, teenager Cassian Hyde, just missed out on a medal as he finished fourth in the men's U20 5,000m in 16:01.35.

It was his second championship of the weekend having taken the bronze medal in the senior boys' 3,000m in 9:15.59 at the Surrey Schools Championships at Kingsmeadow on Saturday, where Hercules Wimbledon athletes gained a hat-trick of titles.

Teenager Rechmial Miller added the schools intermediate boys' 100m title to the county one he lifted last month when he stormed home in 10.96secs - the third Hercules Wimbledon teenager to go sub 11 seconds over the weekend.

Marko Ravic succeeded his clubmate Max Jacobs as the Surrey Schools senior boys javelin champion with a throw of 42.14m, while Joshua Lessey won the intermediate boys' long jump title with a leap of 6.12m.

Six of the nine Hercules Wimbledon athletes in action at Kingsmeadow posted medal-winning performances.

Chad Miller, 14, narrowly failed to match his elder brother's gold medal 100m run but ran the fastest two races of his young life as he took the silver medal in the junior boys 100m in 11.67secs.

Ralphael Buckle, also 14, was the sixth Hercules Wimbledon medallist finishing third in the junior boys' 200m in 24.51secs - he qualified for the final by winning his heat in a faster 24.15.

Elsewhere, Hercules Wimbledon youngsters collected a hat-trick of silver medals in the London Schools Championships at Battersea Park.

Andrei Smirnov (intermediate boys' 100m hurdles), Toby Weston (intermediate boys' high jump) and Belmiro Costa (junior boys' 300m).

The only other Hercules Wimbledon athlete in action, Bella Padt, just missed out on a medal in finishing fourth in the intermediate girls' 300m.

Hercules Wimbledon's women's Rosenheim League team made history at Wimbledon Park when they won all five events in the third Eastern Division match of the season.

Emily Martin gained a double triumph taking the long jump and javelin, Emilie Bokor-Ingram won the 400m, while Claire Grima took the 1,500m in a new club veterans over-35 record time of 4:52.00.

Bokor-Ingram then linked up with Laura Wignall, Heather Letley and Florence King to anchor the 4x200m relay team to victory.

Another record-breaker was Lisa Thomas who set a new club veteran over-45 mark in the 400m, and three days later she also set new figures in the Wimbledon Common parkrun where she was the first woman finisher in 19:32.

She was one of a quintet of Hercules Wimbledon parkrun victors - Kieran White beat a 900-plus strong field in Bushy Park, and the others were Jonathan Cornish (Abingdon) and Olly Laws and Lisa Crow (both at Whitstable).

This weekend, Hercules Wimbledon are in action in a Southern Men's League Division One match at Tooting Bec on Saturday, starting at 1pm.
