Career high: Playing in his first senior tournament in 2008, the Comen Cup.

Sporting background: Sean took up Water Polo aged 11 and began preparing to secure a place in the GB Olympic squad at the age of 16 in 2005 once it had been confirmed London would be hosting the Games.

Sean moved to the National Water Polo Academy in Grantham in the same year and has been playing professionally in Germany since 2010.

He says: Playing in Germany has given me the opportunity to play against experienced international players and I think this has helped me improve as a player.

It will be very difficult for GB to progress out of the group stage but, with the home crowd behind us we might just cause an upset or two.

We say: The draw has not been kind to GB and they are in what has already been described as the Group of Death.

This is the first time Britain have taken part in men’s Water Polo at a Games since 1956.

Escaping the group stage will be a big feat.
