Youth Editor

Almost 6,000 votes were cast in our search to find yourlocalguardian's first youth editor.
There was strong competition between the four shortlisted finalists but in the end you chose 16-year-old Lauren Fraser for the job.
Lauren, who is studying at Glyn Technology College in Ewell, has lived in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand, and believes this has helped her form her opinions and views of the world.
She said: "I'm fortunate enough to have travelled to many areas of the world which will have undoubtably helped me form the opinions and views of the world that I hold today. Being a youth in today's world isn't easy, but it doesn't have to be all that bad either."
Lauren added: "I would like to personally thank each and every Guardian reader who voted for me - you have given me an opportunity which I will most certainly cherish and now I am a step (or two!) closer to fulfilling my aspirations. I would also like to thank the Guardian for offering me this post - I hope I don't let you down."
Lauren will be writing monthly articles for the site.
