Merton Police are appealing for witnesses to help catch a teenager who allegedly stabbed someone in the arm and chest.
The teenager was seen chasing another male and his friend near the graveyard, in Church Road, Mitcham.
A police spokesman said: "The male has thrown an urn towards the victim and missed and then went onto stab the victim in the arm and chest, narrowly missing his heart."
Police say the teenager had earlier been fighting with the two people fleeing from him.
The incident happened on Sunday July 30 at around 3pm.
Police described the teenager as a black male, around 15 years-old, wearing a dark hooded top, black gillet, blue jeans, black and white trainers. They say he was armed with a butterfly knife.
