People who are interested in adopting a child can meet other adoptive parents at Merton Civic Centre during National Adoption Week.

The event will be held at Merton Civic Centre in London Road, Morden, on Wednesday, October 18.

Merton Council’s adoption service performance was rated Outstanding by Ofsted following a July inspection.

Merton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Councillor Katy Neep, said: “Our adoption team has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted, which is testament to their hard work and dedication in supporting our young people and families throughout their adoption journey.

“It is always very inspiring to hear from our families about their experiences of adoption and we hope that anyone interested in becoming an adoptive parent will come along to find out more.”

In Merton, new adopters are needed for children over the age of three with a shortage of adopters from ethnic minority backgrounds.
