Schools from all across the Wimbledon borough will get together to sing their hearts out at MertonSingfest.

More than twenty of the borough’s schools will join amateur and professional choirs for a unique series of free concerts.

And what's the reason?

Nothing else than to celebrate the joy of singing!

The Singfest, which will take place between Friday October 13 and Tuesday October 17 is a collaboration between Wimbledon Choral Society, a 100-year–old choir of 180 amateur singers, the Merton Music Foundation and Wimbledon’s brand new professional Chamber Choir Sonoro.

Neil Ferris, director of music at Wimbledon Choral Society hopes the series of events will highlight the joys of singing.

He said: “Over the Merton SingFest weekend, Wimbledon Choral Society, Sonoro and Merton Music Foundation have come together for a fantastic series of events featuring a range of choirs from the borough that we hope spreads the joy of singing to all in the borough and beyond.”
