The annual Raynes Park festival launches this weekend, starting off with a workshop by the ‘There’s A Tiger in the Garden’ children's author.

The workshop with author and illustrator Lizzy Stewart will start at 2.30pm in Raynes Park Library.

This will be followed by a thought-provoking lecture on community involvement by Ann Morisy at Sacred Heart Church, Edge Hill, and a sports quiz and disco at Prince George’s Club, Prince George’s Avenue, both starting at 7.30pm.

On Sunday (June 25) organiser Raynes Park Community Church is hosting a screening of film 'The Shadow World' at 7pm in The Scout Hut, Cottenham Park Road followed by a discussion with author Andrew Feinstein.

Throughout festival week, anyone can take part in a Treasure Hunt starting at Raynes Park Library, searching for eight treasure boxes hidden around the neighbourhood. Also, a photographic project by clients of South London Refugee Association will feature an exhibition of artwork on the High Street.

MyRaynesPark Festival has been running for seven years and is organised by Raynes Park Community Church in partnership with local organisations, businesses and friends, with the support of Merton Council.

Some events require booking. For more information about the ten day festival, visit http://www.myraynespark.co.uk.
