Police have released an efit of a man who raped a 24-year-old Battersea woman and told her he had HIV.

The Met Police say the woman was raped after being dropped off near her home after a night out around 2.30am on December 15 last year.

The woman, who was dropped off in Battersea Bridge Road near the junction with Prince of Wales Drive, started to walk to her flat.

Along the way she tripped and fell over, and was helped to her feet by her attacker.

He offered to walk her home - but once the pair got there he followed her inside and refused to leave. He then raped her.

He then told the woman he was HIV-positive.

The man is described as 6ft, around 24 years old, of Brazilian appearance with short dark hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing light blue jeans and a dark blue jumper with a zip collar.

At the time of the attack he was carrying a pink and white carrier bag from Paperchase.

Police believe the man lives in the Battersea area.
