Businesses enjoyed a love-in this week to celebrate the re-launch of the TootingLife website.

The Love Tooting campaign was aptly launched on Valentine's Day and aims to attract shoppers into Tooting High Street.

It was launched outside The Brick Box in Tooting Market, Tooting High Street by the Mayor of Wandsworth Councillor Jane Cooper and was also attended by local MP Sadiq Khan.

Businesses attending gave out free food and cards to customers, who were invited to vote for their favourite online - whoever gets the most votes will win a prize.

Coun Cooper cut a specially-made Valentine Cake made by Unique Cakes, Mitcham Road to set the day off in a romantic style.

TootingLife has been re-launched with thanks to money from the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund.

About 50 local businesses have signed up to promote themselves on the site, which is ran by the council and Town Talk.

They have each undergone training to help them use the to attract shoppers back onto the High Street, with each business having their own micro-site.

Sadiq Khan MP said: ""Supporting local business and regenerating business must be a priority for our local community.

"It's wonderful to see such energy and enthusiasm being attracted to area and supporting our local economy."

TootingLife has been re-launched with thanks to money from the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund.

The winner of the "Love Tooting" competition will be announced at the end of February.
