It is a gloomy start to Wednesday morning with commuters being warned about patches of fog.

The Met Office is warning that fog will persist throughout the morning and it will remain grey and dull in the south east.

It will be cloudy and damp, with fog patches slow to clear, according to the Met Office.

It will be brighter in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching 10 degrees.

Tonight the temperature will drop but it will be largely dry, but increasingly cloudy with a minimum temperature of six degrees.

Any clearer spells could lead to some patchy mist and fog developing. A few spots of drizzle then possible by dawn.
