An elderly woman has died in a crash between a lorry and a pedestrian in Wandsworth.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Buckhold Road, at the junction of Wandsworth High Street at 12.16pm today (October 6).

Her next of kin have yet to be informed.

Police were called at 11.55am to reports of a crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian, who suffered leg and head injuries.

Paramedics were joined by air ambulance crews.

The London Ambulance Service were called at 11.50am and sent a number of resources including ambulance crew, a single responder in a car, incident response officer Jennifer Bostock and London Air Ambulance Service crew.

A spokesperon said that, despite extensive treatment at the scene, she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting police officers. Police said there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Roads remain closed with motorists urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
