An exhibition celebrating the work of retired NHS workers has started today in Wandsworth.

A Picture of Health, taking place at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, from June 19 to June 23, is inspired by the memories of Wandsworth people working for the NHS between the 1950s and 1970s.

The Wandsworth Council Community Development Team ran reminiscence workshops where retired NHS workers shared memories of their working lives and the experience of coming to the UK in the 1950s onwards.

Their stories have been set to poetry and illustrated by local primary school children and young patients at St Georges Hospital.
