GREAT Kingshill E claimed only their third win of the season at fellow fourth division strugglers Union Baptist C in the Wycombe and District Table Tennis League.

Kingshill, who are sitting bottom of the league with 50 teams above them, clinched it 6-4 and the win would have been more impressive had it not been for Baptist's Dave Montague, who won all his games on the night.

Alex Hedley and Susanna Horsnell put in a good display for Kingshill, both winning two as well as the doubles, and with one win from Paul Child it was enough to see Kingshill home.

James Montague won the other game for Baptist.

In the Premier Division, there were no surprises as Chalfont A thrashed Apollo A 10-0, only dropping one leg in the process.

Paul Hopgood, Mark Schofield and John Barclay did the damage for Chalfont.

Speen A also made light work of their match against Wesley A, winning 7-3.

Warren Brooks took a maximum, with Terry Boxell (2) and Duane Brooks adding the others. Allen Jones (2) and Nick Hunt replied for Wesley.

The battle at the bottom end of the table between Kestrels and Hazlemere A saw Hazlemere come out victorious with a healthy 8-2 win. Maximums from Chinese star Tim Ing and Mark Croucher helped them on their way.

The result leaves Kestrels rooted to the bottom of the Premier.
