Celebrity chef and Wandsworth Common resident Gordon Ramsay has called for restaurants to be banned from selling out-of-season fruit and veg.
The foul-mouthed 41-year-old said he has even confronted Prime Minister Gordon Brown about the issue.
He thinks restaurants offering out-of-season producer should face hefty fines.
"Fruit and veg should be seasonal," the Michelin-starred chef blasted to BBC Five Live. "Chefs should be fined if they don't have ingredients in season on the menu.
"I don't want to see asparagus in December or Kenyan strawberries in March. I want to see it home-grown. It's a chef's job to ensure everything is locally sourced and, more importantly, when we haven't got it, take it off the menu.
"There should be stringent laws to make sure produce is only used in season.

"The quicker we get legislation pushed through, the more unique this country will become in terms of its sourcing and level of inspiration. Understanding these seasonal aspects makes it ten times more exciting for punters."
