A poker player who won £300,000 in a championship two years ago is aiming for a one million dollar jackpot in a live televised card tournament.

Ian Frazer, who battled it out against the world's top professional poker players to win the UK Open Championships in November 2005, will now play in the Ladbrokes Poker Million VI.

The 48-year-old cardsharp qualified online for the the tournament, described as Europe's longest-running and richest.

Ian will play against some the biggest names in poker as well as a range of celebrities, including Danielle Lloyd, Matt Dawson and Brian McFadden.

In the three years Ian has been playing poker he has won more than $1,000,000 and this is his second year in a row to qualify online for the Ladbrokes Poker Million VI.

However he was forced out of his heat last year by the overall winner Raj Modha.

The father-of-three from Caterham, a project manager for Croydon building company Vidette Ltd, said: "Playing in the Poker Million VI with Ladbrokespoker.com will be a huge challenge.

"Going head-to-head with the world's premiere poker elite will be a test in itself, let alone playing under the pressure of studio lights and cameras. I got beaten heads up last year in the first televised heat by the eventual winner Raj Modha, so this year I'm looking for some revenge."

It was a winning hand of two sixes which won Ian the massive cash prize in 2005, beating off competition from five other finalists, including World Bracelet winner, Brian Wilson and Julian Gardner - the youngest ever world poker champion.

He used some of the money to buy a £125,000 red Ferrari but, despite the win, he did not give up his job at Vidette Ltd, a leisure establishment refurbishment company where he has worked for 15 years.

Ian, who said he wanted to write a poker book called "Win the Frazer Way", also enjoys playing in Croydon's poker clubs as well as taking part in big live events.

Now in its sixth year, the Ladbrokes Poker Million VI kicked off on Sky Sports 2 on September 18 with the celebrity heat. Players will compete in 13 weekly heats, culminating in a live final on December 21.

Ian was filmed at the Sky Sports studio in Isleworth to take on a number of card players in a heat which is due to be broadcast on Tuesday night.
