Three men have been arrested after the death of a 26-year-old in Tooting on Sunday.
Police were called to reports of a man being assaulted in Holmbury Court at 2.40pm on, where they found a man suffering from a head injury.
The man, named as Anthony Thompson, of Derinton Road, was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital but died yesterday (February 7).
A post mortem will be scheduled in due course.
A murder investigation has been launched and an incident room opened under Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Hargreaves from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).
At this early stage detectives believe that Anthony was with friends when he was assaulted during an altercation in the vicinity of Holmbury Court and are keeping an open mind regarding motive.

* A 25-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, February 5, and a 33-year-old man was arrested on Monday, February 6, in connection with the inquiry. They have since been bailed until February 21.
* A third man, 31, was arrested on Tuesday, February 7, on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
