Cash handouts of up to £500 are being offered by Lambeth Council to help residents set up green schemes in their neighbourhoods.

The handouts form part of a campaign by the council to encourage residents to cut their carbon emissions.

Suggestions for projects include food growing cooperatives, community recycling projects, and insulating community buildings.

Some £5,000 of grants are available until March, with more funding expected later in the year.
