Croydon independent school Trinity confirms two cases of swine flu

Two boys from independent school Trinity have been diagnosed with swine flu.

In a letter on the school’s website, deputy headmaster Joe McKee confirmed one student in the junior form and one in the first form had the virus.

He said they has been advised to stay home but the symptoms were mild.

Despite the confirmation Mr McKee said all lessons and activities, including the school’s field day on July 2, would still go ahead.

He added the school, in Shirley Park, was in close contact with the Health Protection Agency and have been advised to remain open until further notice.

The letter said parents should ensure any child with flu like symptoms remains at home and contact the school as soon as possible.

The latest outbreak follows adds to the tally of 11 children confirmed so far at three primary schools in Croydon.

Five pupils at Woodcote Primary School have been diagnosed with the illness and there has been one confirmed case at Broadmead Primary School.

There has been another confirmed case of swine flu at Parish Church Junior School in Warrington Road, Croydon.
