A 28-year-old man accused of attacking two women with a hammer in South Norwood has been remanded in custody before his next court appearance.
Aminul Islam, of Portland Road, South Norwood, appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court via videolink on Tuesday charged with attempted murder and GBH with intent.
The charges relate to an incident on Sunday night in Portland Road, when police were called to reports of a man, armed with a hammer, assaulting two women in the street.
Both victims, who are in their 20s, were taken to hospital and their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Mr Islam’s next court appearance will be at Croydon Crown on March 17.
