Police are growing increasingly concerned for a 16-year-old girl who has not been seen for nine days, after leaving her friend’s house.

Charmaine Wilkinson, from Coulsdon, was last seen at her home at about 7.30pm on January 3 before she went to stay with a friend.

She then left the friend’s house and has not been seen or made contact with anyone since.

Charmaine is white, 5ft 5in, of a slim build with long brown hair.

When she was last seen she was wearing black leggings, a jumper or hooded top, pink and black Nike Air Max trainers and fluffy socks.

She spends time in Croydon, Purley, Thornton Heath and the surrounding areas and Surrey officers are working with the Metropolitan Police to try and establish her whereabouts.

PC Ian Matthews, from the Surrey Police missing persons team, said: "We are all very concerned for Charmaine's welfare, particularly as she has not responded to any messages through email or Facebook and her phone also appears to be switched off.

"We would just like to speak to her so that we know she is safe and well.

"Please call us straightaway if you have any information which could assist our enquiries."

If you have seen Charmaine, or you have any information which could help, please call Surrey police on 101, quoting reference 45150001575 or P15004728.
