Armed police were called after a man made online death threats to ‘jihadis’ on Twitter.

The officers went to a house in Reddown Road, Coulsdon, at about 11am yesterday as a precaution to ensure the man’s welfare.

But no arrests were made.

The tweets are believed to have invited ‘jihadis’ to ‘come and get me’ and mentioned the man’s address.

They are also reportedly said ‘he was a good shot and he’d take people out’.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called yesterday, with reports of concern for the welfare of a man, following recent tweets linked to an address in Reddown Road, Coulsdon.

"London Ambulance Service also attended and the occupant was found safe and well at the address.

"He was spoken to by officers and given advice about information he was tweeting."
