The new Wandsworth Post Office has been robbed this afternoon.
Forensic officers and the Flying Squad, the Met’s specialist robbery team, are currently at the post office in Wandsworth High Street.
The post office was opened by Battersea and Putney MPs Jane Ellison and Justine Greening, in July this year.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Service said: “Police were called today at 1.40pm to the post office to reports of a robbery.
“Officers from the Met Flying Squad are investigating. We can’t confirm at this stage that a weapon was used. They made off in a vehicle. At this stage there is no mention of anybody being injured.”
