A £2,000 reward is up for grabs as police renew calls for information on a late-night attack more than three weeks ago.
The victim remains in a serious condition in hospital after being found with head injuries in the middle of the road in Walton-on-the-Hill.
The man, thought to be in his 30s, was found lying in Breech Lane at about 12.30pm on Sunday, July 20. He was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
After the initial police appeal, it emerged that a fight and chase on foot, involving another man, had taken place.
Crimestoppers have now offered the £2,000 reward for any further information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
Detective Inspector Sailesh Limbachia said: "The injuries sustained by the man in this incident were very serious and we remain committed to finding out exactly what happened to him that night.
"I hope the reward on offer from the independent charity Crimestoppers will help in bringing further information to light."
DI Limbachia asked anyone who was in the Breech Lane area, between 12.15am and 12.30am on the night of the attack, to get in touch.
She said: "We believe there were people in the area at the time who may have seen what happened or heard afterwards about what happened and we would urge them to come forward and tell us what they know, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously."
To be eligible for the reward, information must be passed directly to Crimestoppers. Call 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
