A BMW driver who drove the wrong way across Kingston’s one-way system, hit three pedestrians and crashed into a double-decker bus last summer has been disqualified from driving.

Shibo Li, 49, runs Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Fife Road and lives in Melrose Avenue, Wimbledon.

He admitted driving without due care and attention when he appeared at Lavender Hill Magstrates’ Court in December, the Metropolitan Police said today.

After the crash outside Kingston train station a woman was airlifted from Cromwell Road bus station with severe leg injuries.

Two other pedestrians were taken to Kingston Hospital – one of them a war refugee from Syria.

Li originally blamed a cyclist who he said had spooked him after a collision in Fife Road.

The cyclist sustained an injury after going across the car's bonnet, according to court papers.

Li said the day after the crash last July: “I was panicked and lost control of the car.

“He started shouting and caused my panic.

“It happened really quickly and I didn’t have any time to think about it. I was shocked and shaking.

“I think people cycling, they need to pay due attention. There are too many bicycle people on the road."

Magistrates disqualified Li from driving for six months and fined him £300 after his appearance on December 10.
