Two mothers have been found guilty of assault after brawling with another mum at the gates of their child’s school.

Keyleigh Gore, 25 and Sasha Fisher 21, who both live in Marsh Court on Pincott Road in Wimbledon, were hauled before magistrates following the childish spat outside Merton Abbey Primary on March 12.

Wimbledon Magistrates Court heard how Gore had confronted Kelly Giles, who was waiting to pick up her child from the school, after claiming she had shouted out calling her ‘fat’ and insulting her daughter.

Gore pushed Miss Giles who fell back onto a low level wall where she was repeatedly punched by Gore.

Fisher, who initially tried to break up the pair, then assaulted Miss Giles by pushing her in the shoulder and then hitting her in the face.

Miss Giles was left with extensive bruising to her lower back, arms and above her left eye as a result of the attack.

After a three hour trial at Wimbledon Magistrates on August 8, both were found guilty of assault by beating after their claims of self defence were disproven by the crown.

Gore admitted she had pushed Mrs Giles to 'get her off her' after the two became embroiled in a hair pulling tussle, she claimed.

Fisher said she had broken up the two women and that she had later hit Mrs Giles in the face with her palm because she had feared for her safety.

John Brummell, chair of the bench, said: "The issue in this case is self defence.

"We found Mrs Gore was the initial aggressor.

"She pushed Mrs Giles on to a low wall and proceeded to punch Mrs Giles.

"Mrs Fisher initially intervened but then subsequently assaulted Mrs Giles by punching her. "The extensive injuries suffered were as a result of these two assaults."

The pair are expected to appear in court for sentencing on August 28.
