Parents have been warned after a man in a white van stopped next to a child on a scooter.
A mum was walking her year-three daughter home from All Saints Benhilton Primary School at about 3.30pm on Tuesday when the incident occurred, according to a school safety alert put out by the school.
The girl was on a scooter ahead of her mother on Muschamp Road, near Carshalton Boys sports ground, when a large plain white van stopped beside her.
A male driver started to get out of the van and the girl immediately scooted back to her mother.
The man drove off again in the direction of Wrythe Lane. The police have been informed.
