A member of the local Conservative Association has said some members were "disillusioned" by the executive's decision to expel ex-councillor Eleanor Pinfold from the party.
At a standing-room only meeting at the Conservatives' office in Benhill last week the executive voted to end Miss Pinfold's association with the party - a decision which Miss Pinfold told the Sutton Guardian she was going to appeal.
"The expulsion decision was taken by the local Conservative association, which it is entitled to do," said a spokesman for the Conservative Party's head office.
"Eleanor Pinfold will have the right to appeal. If she does so, an appeal would be considered by the party's membership committee," he added.
But a disgruntled member said this decision has divided the party.
"For every person who found her abrasive there is another that finds her attitude refreshing in this time of sanitised, gesture politics.

"Many of us feel disillusioned and disappointed this has happened," he said.

He has now set up a blog called "Paul Scullduggery Watch" as a counter-blog to the opposition leader Councillor Paul Scully's blog, in which he discusses the issue.
"I'm interested to see I have a cyber-stalker," said Coun Scully.
"If they want to set up their own blog - fine, I have no problem with that," he added.
Miss Pinfold told the Sutton Guardian she was appealing the decision but would make no further comment pending the appeal.
"I am appealing under the rules of the Conservative Party," she said.
She lost her post as councillor for Cheam ward after councillors' watchdog the Standards Board ruled she had breached the Councillors' Code of Conduct by sending brash and abrasive emails.
Chairman of the association Councillor Jonathan Pritchard - who was elected to take over Miss Pinfold's Cheam seat - was unavailable to comment on the association's decision.

Funny how Coun. Scully claims that he does not mind the existence of an alternative blog with differing opinions to his own, yet on his own blog he imposed moderation on the facts about Eleanor Pinfold being booted out of the Conservative party.
Scully deleted posts by other blogger which revealed the true facts about the meeting of Sutton Tories which determined Eleanor Pinfold's future within the party.
Councillor Scully believes in freedom of speech as long as everyone else watches what they say...

What a load of rubbish being spouted by this "Watchman"character.
All most people want in this borough is for the LDs to be bought to account in a responsible and grown up way so that they can have their bins emptied and children go to school without any hassle.
Trying to get news on what is an old story is frankly fairly pathetic.
The world moves on and i hope the Tories in the borough gert rid of this tired and failing Lib Dem administration.
Or perhaps this "Watchman"wants more of the same.
Who cares about Miss Pinfold she is history.
The future is what matters.

I concur, who cares about this story?
What people really want is to eject this increasingly useless Lib Dem hegemony of high taxes, scaled down services, barmy initiatives like totem poles, 10k pay increases, political correctness, wishy washy liberalism on crime, huge over-development and much much more.
They don't want all this boring tosh.[bold]bold[/bold]

Yes, the story was so old that not even the Guardian's Chief Reporter had heard about it due to Scully's attempts to suppress the true facts behind Eleanor being kicked out of the party.
£10 a year pay rises? Disgusting! Yet what about the £6k a year Sutton Tory deputy leader's pay rise that Coun. Shields is currently enjoying due to him agreeing a deal with those same Lib Dems? Eradicate the Tory hypocrisy first and then bash the Lib Dems after, wouldn't you say?
Snouts in the trough one and all!
This is clearly the kind of "transparent democracy" that the new Sutton Tory elite believe in, although it would not be out of place in Pyongyang.
How can the Conservatives be anymore fit for Council than the Lib Dems when they act in such a contradicTORY fashion by mirroring these Lib Dem traits?

Watchman,You actually are fairly misnamed.
How can yo go on about allowances when Cllr Pickles takes his 9k under a false pretence.
He was not elected for UKIP but for the Conservatives.
Now there is hypocrisy.

Actually, I thought Pickles was elected into office to serve his constituents NOT the Conservatives. It would only be a false pretense if he was not actively serving those constituents on a daily basis (and I do hear he serves them pretty well).
Isn't the sense of entitlement amongst the current "elite" of Sutton's Conservative party quite overwhelming?
As you have had the audacity to mention hypocrisy, I must add that the Shields pay rise was against the Sutton Tories' pre-election pledge of "no pay increases for Councillors".
So much for the for the new Conservative commissars leading by example then...
