‘Travellers’ have set up on the site of a former site of a North Cheam car dealership by reportedly 'cutting the locks' to get in.
Reports have been made to both the police and Sutton Council regarding the current situation in recent days, and it’s believed the group entered the land on April 15 but this is currently unconfirmed.
It was previously occupied by Evans Autos in London Road.
A Sutton Council spokesman said there are approximately six vehicles on the private land and the landlord is currently aware, and it is said 'travellers' got in by cutting the locks.
He added that they are on private land and, therefore, it is within the owner's remit to take action.
Meanwhile, a Met Police spokesman also said ‘a number of reports’ have been received regarding the situation but also said this is a matter for the landowner.
No arrests have been made.
