An Italian-American German pasta fast-food takeaway set to open its first UK branch in Sutton High Street has announced officially announced its opening date.

Tellys TST will be coming to Sutton towards the end of the month following the announcement which was made this week (April 11).

The fast-food chain is inspired by a ‘premium pasta to-go concept’ which has led to a ‘reinterpretation’ of classic pasta – leading to more than 80 combinations.

A Tellys TST spokesman said: “Tellys TST optimised all its processes and their equipment in such a way that every customer gets his [or her] delicacies within three minutes only.

“If you want, you can put together your own personal cup of pasta. Afterwards, you can follow the preparation of your food in the open kitchen – the heart of the stylish Tellys TST store.

“Its style is inspired by the cosmopolitan lifestyle of SoHo, a scenic quarter of New York City and London.”

The takeaway chain, which has stores across three German cities, says it only uses 100 percent, natural ingredients while also serving ‘all black everything’ coffee, but the whole concept revolves around the tortellini.

It was launched by German chef and author Christian Rach, who received his first Michelin star in 1991.

It follows after plans were submitted to Sutton Council on January 2 to convert a current site into a restaurant, which would employ between four and six people.

In the planning application, it said: “We think this new concept in food looks to bring a fresh shop on the high street, Tellys TST want to be on every high street in years to come.

“But the picture on the wall will say first open in Sutton 2018.

“We hope.”

The plans were approved which has now led to the new store, which will be open from 7am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, opening on April 28.
