A man has been hospitalised after he reportedly fell from the back of a lorry following a car crash in Wallington.

Police were called to the incident in Stafford Road shortly after 5pm on Friday (February 23).

Witness Luke Allen said: "I was driving down Stafford Road when I noticed an Audi had crashed into the back of a RAFF electrical lorry, there was another small RAFF electrical van in front of the Audi blocking the Audi in.

"The man who suffered the injured back was actually loading a washing machine into the lorry on a tail lift when the Audi crashed, this resulted in him falling on the tail lift.

"He was on the floor with memebers of the public around him and some coats on him to keep him warm on the cold ground.

"I went by again to see the man being treated on the floor and the Audi driver still in his car on the phone whilst police were trying to talk to him."

A Met Police spokesman said the man was treated for a back injury he sustained, while his current condition is described as not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
