National Rail made first made the announcement shortly before 5pm this evening (February 9) but later added delays are set to last for another few hours.
Routes going through Beckenham Junction, Sutton and Orpington will be affected.
A National Rail spokesman said: “Emergency services have now attended to the passenger who was taken ill on the train between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars, allowing all lines to be reopened.
“However, train services running between these stations, in both directions, may be cancelled or delayed by up to 40 minutes.
“We anticipate a good service being in operation by approximately 9pm.”
⚠️#StPancras - Apologies to passengers who have been disrupted tonight. We are working hard to return trains to where they are supposed to be so normal service can resume.
