A new Lidl supermarket is set to open its doors in Carshalton next week.

The store, in Wrythe Road, will be offering customers the chance to sample some products throughout the day as it features an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing and ‘ample’ parking for both cars and bicycles.

It is said to have created 40 new jobs in the area as it becomes the national chain’s second branch in Sutton after the one in Wallington's Beddington Gardens.

Lidl UK’s regional head of property Chris Young-Wootton said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Carshalton.

“It’s great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi award-winning products to the local community.”

The new Lidl will open on February 15.
