A Sutton man has been jailed for two weeks after stealing aftershave from a Debenhams in Wimbledon.

Liam Gilmartin, 29, of Sutton Common Road, pleaded guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on October 16 to stealing aftershave worth £135 from the store on Queen's Road.

A short jail term was awarded by the judge because Gilmartin's other convictions were considered.

He has been ordered to pay the £135 compensation.

Gilmartin was previously handed a suspended sentence of imprisonment of 16 weeks suspended for 12 months at South West London Magistrates' Court on September 6, 2017 for various burglaries.

These included stealing meat from Morrisons in Wimbledon worth £54.34, stealing meat at a Sainsbury's in Wallington worth £33.43 and stealing meat from a Lidl in Beddington worth £47.12.

Gilmartin went on to steal the aftershave in Debenhams on October 14 before being imprisoned for two weeks.
