The manager of a bank in Wallington has warned about the threat of online frauds and has encouraged people to seek Barclays advice on digital safety.
This comes after Barclays in Wallington held a digital safety event last month (September 8) where customers learned how to protect themselves from fraud.
David Whitehead, Manager at the Barclays Wallington branch, said: “Helping customers and local residents get online is something we’re really keen to support through our Digital Eagles, however, we also want to make sure they do this safely.
"This event provided an opportunity for people to talk to Sutton Trading standards and the Metropolitan Police about what scams are taking place locally and also to get some tips on safe banking and staying safe online.
“We hope this event helped to raise awareness of the different kinds of frauds and scams in existence and we are encouraging everyone, even the most confident of digital users, to take our test and learn how they can stay safe in our digital age.”

MP Tom Brake was at the awareness day and spoke about the issue of digital safety.
He said: "It is vitally important that people stay up to date on the latest frauds and scams, it’s an increasing problem and Barclays should be applauded for the work they are doing to protect their customers."
