A driver smashed into a building and injured a woman when he had a suspected heart attack at the wheel this morning.
The accident happened at about 10.45am in Mitcham Lane, Streatham, between the junctions of Blegborough and Thrale Roads.
London Ambulance Service crews took a 54-year-old woman suffering from back injuries and a 48-year-old man with chest injuries to St George's Hospital in Tooting.
According to a passerby the male driver of the red Rover had a heart attack at the wheel and veered off the road, crashing into the Markrise Pharmacy in Mitcham Lane.
Apparently a barrier in the road then came loose after the smash and as a result hit the woman, who was walking down the road.
A Wandsworth police spokeswoman said she had a suspected pelvic fracture and a possible thigh bone fracture.
She added that while the woman's injuries were not life threatening, they are thought to be potentially life changing.
A section of the road has been closed.
