A boys' choir wowed America when they sang in front of the Pope and a crowd of 65,000 people at the Yankees Stadium in New York.

The choir performed at a papal mass concert, held at the stadium to mark the end of Pope Benedict XVI's six-day visit to the US.

Libera have experienced great success, travelling and performing around the world.

They have been touring the United States for the past month and the last date was on Sunday when they sang at the papal mass concert.

This is not the first taste of fame for the boys - in December they sang in front of President George W Bush and celebrities including Robert De Niro, Cameron Diaz, Diana Roadd and Steve Martin at the Kennedy Center Honors.

The boys of Libera, who are aged seven to 16, gave concerts in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Albany, Hartford and New York City, and are well known thanks to their recent TV special - Angel Voices.

In addition to their own distinctive music, Libera have performed as backing singers with Bjork, Elton John and Pavarotti and featured on the soundtracks of films such as Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet and Ridley Scott's Hannibal.

The boys, who come from different backgrounds, all live and go to school in south London.

Libera has an enthusiastic fan base, particularly in the United States, UK, Japan and Korea, where their CDs have enjoyed mainstream and classical chart success.

But, as one of the boys said, "The travelling and filming is fun but even if we didn't go anywhere I'd still want to do it because I just love singing."

Their US tour will long live in the memories of those fortunate enough to attend, and despite technical glitches with the sound setup at the Yankee Stadium, they delivered a very special performance of Sanctus. They are Croydon's greatest asset.

I can sense that Libera is loved by many of their
fans, because they touches each individual souls with
their music that brings so much unexplained happiness,
a sacred song that will always shine through our ears
& the angel voices that is very uplifting to soothe
our ups & downs in a daily basis of life just by
listening to their songs always made our day.
Their appearance in New York Yankee Stadium was the "BEST", despite the blowing winds they still manage to re-create "SANCTUS" as one of their many fans favorite song. We Americans are proud to witness this event including Pope Benedict & around the globe. Truly, Libera are the most best kept secret of Croydon. The british at their best I'm proud to all of them.

The comment above by Gustavo, reinforces why I'm so happy I am not shackled by the restraints of religion. If that's all you can say after Libera's excellent peformance at the Pope's concert, then I urge you to free yourself of this brainwashing disease. Is Harry Connick Jnr a practising Catholic or any of the other acts that performed? Open your eyes, free your mind, get rid of the dark clouds that plague your judgement. Be Alive!

I saw Libera twice on their US tour. (I discovered that many people saw them several times and traveled thousands of miles to see them!)Libera certainly deserves all the rave reviews. It was also nice to talk to them at the "meet and greet" after the concerts. They certainly do the UK proud. If they have not done a "command performance" for the queen, she is really missing something special!
I wish Libera continued success.

Relax. You could have answered to my question. Instead you preferred to judge me for asking it. Be courteous.

If you were trying to sell some CD's and get some exposer, it wouldn't seem so odd.
