A middle aged woman was sexually assaulted and attacked in the graveyard at St Leonard's Church on September 8.
Police were called to the church, in Streatham High Road, at about 5.40am and found a semi-conscious, partially clothed womanwith severe head injuries.
She was taken to Kings College Hospital where it was discovered she had been sexually assaulted.
The victim is now recovering from her ordeal and cannot remember the details of what happened.
DC Roy Hill from Lambeth Sapphire Unit said: "We're anxious to speak to anyone who may be able to help us find out what happened that night.
"I'm sure there would have been a lot of people in the area as it is always busy. Caesars nightclub is nearby and there's also an all night grocery store."
