An Ashford pensioner was accidentally killed after being hit by a seven tonne truck, an inquest into his death concluded.
Hok Wu, 74, of Normanhurst, Ashford, died as he walked along the A30 Staines bypass, between the M25 junction and the Crooked Billet roundabout on Thursday, October 4, at about 1.10pm.
Woking Coroner's Court heard how he had stopped his green Ford Fiesta to stretch his legs, as he regularly suffered from cramp.
Mr Wu, who also had cataracts and may have suffered from glare in the bright sunshine, was then said to have "lunged" into the oncoming path of Stephen Bell's white Iveco van.
Mr Bell said: "It seemed that as I got alongside him he lunged.
"I swerved to avoid him and heard a bang and then went back to see what had happened."

Virginia Richley was driving behind Mr Bell at the time of the accident.
She attended to Mr Wu while awaiting the emergency services and she said he was breathing, but unconscious.
She said: "I took notice of the vehicle as it suddenly swerved from lane one to lane two as if avoiding someone."
She added: "I saw a grown man falling from the air falling backwards from the front of the vehicle to the ground. He fell into the exit of the lay-by."
Mr Wu was thought to have been going to Egham.
Coroner Michael Burgess recorded a verdict of accidental death.
