Budding artists from a Richmond school raised £2,500 for a children’s charity with an art exhibition.

Tor Freeman -author and illustrator of the Digby Dog books - officially opened the exhibition at Falcons Preparatory School, in Kew Foot Road.

Various art styles were on display and the boys also worked together to create a large painting which was auctioned off, raising money for the school’s selected charity, The Wooden Spoon.

The charity seeks to fund a number of projects each year, supporting disadvantaged and disabled children.

Isabella Broadbent, head of art and design, said: “The exhibition showcased an exceptional array of artwork by our pupils, which highly impressed our visitors and special guest.

“To raise £2,500 in one event was a fantastic achievement and we are delighted to be able to support the charity further.”
