Three males were arrested in Richmond in the early hours of the morning after acting suspiciously at a cash point.
Police told the Richmond and Twickenham Times that the incident happened at approximately 3am on Kew Road across from the train station.
Richmond Police tweeted that an "eagle eyed" Richmond Council CCTV operator was first to spot the males.
Cash, bank cards and tools were later seized from a car close by.
