Police have re-issued an appeal for information after a man was hit on the head with a vodka bottle at Hampton Wick station.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Friday, June 30.

After the original appeals, an 18-year-old man from Hampton, Richmond Upon Thames, was interviewed and reported for ABH assault in relation to the offence.

As part of the investigation officers have released a CCTV image of a second man they to speak to in connection with the incident as he may have information which could help the investigation.

Police said the 22-year-old victim had been walking down the stairs to the exit of the station by the main road when two men came up from behind and one of them grabbed a cigarette from the victim’s hand.

The victim turned around and one of the men hit him with a vodka bottle on his head. according to police.

The man sustained a large cut to his head and bruising to his eye and cheekbone and required hospital treatment.

Members of the public came to help him including a woman who walked him home.

Officers would like to trace this woman, who had an Irish accent, and anyone else who witnessed the incident who has not yet come forward to police.
