Spend a day in the life of one of the capital’s crime fighters at Twickenham Police Station open day this summer.

The annual event encourages families to visit and get with a jam-packed schedule of activities, demonstrations and exhibitions at the station, on 41 London road, on August 6.

Now in its sixth year, children can test out their fingerprints, create their own ‘wanted’ poster, get involved in a mock crime scene or take part in one of the other many attractions.

Officers from a range of units are also scheduled to attend to talk to visitors and give demonstrations, including emergency response teams, CID investigators and the Met volunteer program.

Youngster, aged 14-19, can learn what it is like to be a police cadet, who play a key part in alcohol test purchases operations and take part in the annual Police Cadets competition.

Find out how our four-legged friends help out from the dog support team, who provide 24-hour specialist support to the Met Police across London’s 32 boroughs, from tracking suspects, firearms and dead bodies to conducting drugs searches and finding explosive substances.

Met police mascot, PC Lee, will be around all day to meet young visitors and the band Nark Drool and the Shudders will be playing some toe-tapping tunes throughout the day.
