1999 - A six-year-old boy breaks the world record by catching a rainbow trout weighing 19lb 14oz.

2001 - A Porsche driver in Germany is stopped after he is spotted travelling at 155mph on the motorway, whilst simultaneously checking his share prices.

2002 - Prince Charles says he is worried that young people are wasting their talents in office jobs that aren't suitable for them. He says it would be good to place more emphasis on apprenticeships and traditional crafts.

2002 - It is revealed that pop concerts and top sporting events are to be staged at the Millennium Dome under a new Government deal.
