Workmen blamed for closure of South Wimbledon underground station

South Wimbledon tube station has been shut, apparently after a workman’s mistake.
A spokeswoman for Transport for London said workmen outside the Morden Road station had drilled through a cable, cutting off power to it.
She was unable to say when the station, which closed about an hour ago, might re-open.
