A thriller writer has released the second book in his high flying financial trilogy.
John Gubert, 64 of Wimbledon Village released The Financial Terrorist on July 3 after his successful first book, One Step to Danger.
Mr Gubert was travelling the world for business when he began to get the ideas for his books.
He said: “I used to work with HSBC and I did a huge amount of travel. I got bored of watching films and just began writing.”
His fans were excited about the follow-up after his 2007 novel, which was based on the unlikely event of a financial meltdown came true.
The new book tracks the work of bankers Charles and Jacqui Rossi as they begin to compete with the world of organised crime and money laundering.
While it will appear more conspiracy theory than his last effort, Mr Gubert believes that it is still a situation that could occur.
He said: “There is always talk about multi-billion dollars in money laundering. This is fiction and not fact but it is possible.”
Mr Gubert believes his book can do well and hopes one day it could even be on the big screen.
The Financial Terrorist is available at various bookshops across Merton and also online at www.amazon.co.uk.
